Science Without Religion Is Lame...

… and religion without science is blind.

These words are shared by Albert Einstein, widely acknowledged to be one of the greatest physicists of all time. How I understand these words is that religion cannot see the truth, as we are living in this physical world. But science without religion is uninspiring and therefore cannot move to reach the truth. Einstein’s words bring a smile on my face, because that’s exactly the point I have reached in my life right now.

This month exactly one year ago I have kicked off my newest adventure: doing a PhD research on (self) dialogue. Mostly to understand my own passion on a deeper level, but also to scientifically back up my statements and my services as a social entrepreneur in the personal development field - since the past 6 years and I am continuing to do so. Of course, any research starts with writing a research proposal: what I am exactly going to research and why.

After one year I can say that all versions of my PhD research proposal have ended up in the trash. In stead of feeling lost and demotivated, I realise the adventure has already begun and I am ready for the next chapter. My own name Wassila is a natural place to start this new chapter. I have never felt more inspired, full of energy and enthusiasm, than I am feeling right now since I have decided to dive into what my name means and the religion it’s derived from: Islam.

I am immensely gratefuI for people who respond to my request to share with me their must read, see and listen. Besides reading The Holy Qur'an and many books written in light of Islam about reclaiming one’s heart, I am also watching documentaries, listening to podcasts and online recordings from seminars given by worldwide respected scholars. There is a lot to discover and learn. Today my 3 weeks of holiday have started, so I don’t have to be bored.

Science in Islam - for discovering the signs of Allah, God the creator - is based on unity of nature, order and creation. These very early discoveries make me already decide to take you with me in this new chapter of my adventure. So keep an eye on my blog and sign up via the RSS feed buttons in the footer of my website to receive notifications when a new blog is posted. Furthermore, if you read this and you have a specific question or topic you’d suggest me to dive into, leave me a message in the comment section below, I'd love to hear from you.
