I Am A Super Woman Because...

a super woman raised me. In my case, not one but actually four super women.

Without discarding any beautiful and strong men who have crossed my path in life. I am grateful for each one of you too. In this article I'd choose to celebrate what it means to be a woman for me. Who I am and why I am here in this journey called life.

My words won't be about my background as a daughter of Moroccan immigrants, or about my challenges and gifts. This article is also not about my beliefs or the work I have done - from a military officer to an award winning government official, entering politics as Member of Parliament (MP) and leaving the political arena - and the work I am doing almost 5 years now, as a social entrepreneur serving people in their personal development journey. Although I feel how my significance and impact grows every single day. And although I love the journey we call life, even more than any goal I have achieved and I am still aiming to create. This article is not about all that.

This article is about who I aman expression of life. I am not different than you are. We all are life. And we are all more connected with each other than we think, with people all across the planet, and with the planet itself. Tom Chi has shared this, not through any philosophy or personal growth idea, but by using pure, mind-blowing scientific facts that give you a whole new perspective of what is means to be you and just how connected we are to each other and to every other cellular being on planet Earth. We are just different expressions of the one life that is. My expression is what I call dialogue - human connection. In other words, communication with connection. Using the power of words to connect with one another. And if you connect to spirituality, even my name Wassila - which was not given to me by my parents but by my mother's childless friend who happened to be with my mother when the first labour pains started - is derived from Islam and is an Arabic word to refer to the means to connect with the divine. For me divine means one life, all that is.

This article is also about why I am here: to remind myself of who I am and how I express my self, every single day. Another way to say it, I am here to master being, doing and having - exactly in that order. There are four women who not only remind me of this mastery, who not only accelerate my mastery, but who reflect to me my being, doing and having in life. Those women are my daily reminder, my mirror so to say, of who I am and why I am here. I love these women, I love them just as much as I love life.

In this article I'd also love to lift a tip of the veil, by announcing that the idea of Super Women Sessions - that I have played with for four (!) years now - is evolving and coming into its next stage of development. A super woman is not a woman with exceptional physical or mental ability. A super woman is a woman who is aligned with her inner being and masters being, doing and having. Four seasons, so four times a year one session. Lucky number four.

Stay tuned this month, every week I will share with you my love for those four super women who raised me. Each in their own unique way. My mother Fatima Adnane, my best friend who became family Gervaise Coebergh, my coach in all areas of my life Lisa Nichols and my part-time housemate and angel without wings Lenette van Dongen. And the cherry on the cake, closing this month with more details about the Super Women Sessions.
